A Wee Little Product Occupying the Bigger World

Premier Wen Jiabao on an Inspection Tour to ACHR

       Wen Jiabao, member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Premier of the State Council, together with leaders of state-level departments, went on an inspection tour to ACHR on Aug 23, 2009. They were escorted by provincial and municipal leaders including Zhejiang CPC chief Zhao Hongzhu, Governor Lu Zushan, Wenzhou CPC chief Shao Zhanwei and Mayor Zhao Yide.

　　During his visit, Premier Wen first raised the most important question,“How is the production of the enterprise? ”Chairman Xue of the Board of Directors said that “More than 90 percent of our products sell overseas. We had a hard time in Jan and Feb. But now we receive more orders than we can meet every month.” The premier continued by asking how confident they were for the second half of the year. Chairman Xue said, “No problem. The orders would be sufficient. We had an order of 390,000 electronic fuel pumps this month, but our production capacity per month is only 300,000 pumps. Based on this capacity, we will exceed the target of two million pumps annually set by the State Development and Reform Commission. But we’ll not be able to meet the actual demand.”

　　At the assembly lines, Premier Wen shook hands with the workers one after another. He asked one of them, engineer Ye Lijun, “How do you grade your fuel pumps in the world?”Ye was very upbeat and objective,“We are the leader in China. But several foreign companies are more advanced technologically than us. But trust us, Mr. Premier. We have the confidence to surpass them and develop the best electrical fuel pumps in the world.”

　　Upon hearing Ye Lijun’s response, the premier said that a wee little product could also occupy the bigger world and expressed the wish that the staff of ACHR would work harder to get to the top of the world.

　　Premier Wen finally said, “In just two months, ACHR ran out of difficult times and received saturated orders. You achieved this thanks to the reliable quality of your products. This displays your confidence and resilience. Although you are advanced in <st1:country-region w:st="on">China, you’re not in a leading position in the world. We should keep our confidence in reaching the world level, just as we did in times of difficulties. We believe that the Chinese are not only able to confront difficulties, but also to ascend to the top (of the world). ”
