Over time, oil, fuel and coolant can lead to the establishment of smoke and other pollutants within the sensor, performance degradation, leading to inefficient combustion of gasoline in the engine results. If your oxygen sensor has become a corrosive, you need to buy a new one. However, if you are looking to save a few dollars, you can also try to clean your current oxygen sensor to improve its performance.
